What We Check in Every Carpet Shipment

Our carpet inspectors have spent years on the ground in Kathmandu's carpet factories. Every inspection follows a checklist we've built over a decade of Nepal-focused QC.

We inspect hand-knotted Tibetan, machine-tufted, Dhurrie flat-weaves, and custom-designed pieces. Each inspection comes with 40–80 photos and a full report within 24 hours.

Knot count verification - KPSI (knots per square inch) measured against specification
Pile height and density - uniformity across the entire carpet surface
Wool quality assessment - fibre grade, blend ratio, and origin verification
Dye fastness testing - rub fastness, light fastness, and water fastness
Design and pattern accuracy - motif alignment, border symmetry, colour match
Backing and edge finish - selvage condition, latex integrity, edge stitching
Dimensional measurement - length, width, and thickness at multiple points
Packaging review - rolling direction, wrapping, carton strength, labelling

Rigorous Testing for Every Carpet Shipment

Beyond the visual check, we run physical and chemical tests to make sure your carpets meet international standards.

Drop Test

Standard drop test on packed cartons from 1m height to verify packaging integrity and product protection during transit.

Cut & Burn Test

Fibre composition verification through controlled burn testing to distinguish wool from synthetic blends and confirm fibre purity.

Dye Fastness Testing

Water, rub (wet and dry), and light fastness tests to ensure colours do not bleed, fade, or transfer during use and washing.
